Ms. Loi Herrera
Ms. Loi is a graduate of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) with a BSC-Accounting degree & an MBA candidate at Pepperdine University. She was conferred the degree of Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa during the 2018 Commencement Exercises of PUP held at PICC Manila. In 1988, she came to America and ventured in businesses; 1989-Croissant Etc. located in Lakewood Mall and year 2000-Loi’s Bridal & Salon in Cerritos. However, she worked most of her life in Los Angeles as an accountant. She is now retired with 25+ years of accounting experience. Her compassion to help the poor & sick children in the Philippines motivated her to establish the Guardian Angels of America Foundation (GAAF) which aims to alleviate the pain & sufferings of poor and sick children in the Philippines. Loi is one of the founding directors of the Fil-Am Chamber of Commerce-SouthBay Los Angeles Area (FACC-SLAA) before becoming the current president of FACC-SLAA. She is the past president of PUP Alumni Assoc. USA from 2016 to 2017 and past president of PHILSELA in 2013. She is an active community leader in various organizations & serves in different capacities. She also volunteers as Eucharistic minister at St. Linus Church. She considers herself fulfilled as a single mother of two daughters; Dr. Marisse Herrera married to Dr. Kevin Oei with a son Ayrton and Sheryl married to Vance Nguyen with two children Alexis and Angelo. Her aspiration is to live her remaining life to serve God and to give back to her countrymen.
